About George Lockwood
George Lockwood developed a passion for wildlife and the outdoors while camping, hunting and fishing in the western United States and Mexico as a boy. In Alaska he was a guide. Later he was commissioned to paint specific animals and places for people he had guided. Thus, he began to paint professionally, specializing in wildlife and landscape.
George Lockwood creates art inspired by first-hand knowledge. His paintings are a record of experiences and they can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and around the world. He has been in several publications and received numerous awards, one being the 1994, 1997 Alaska Duck Stamps, both of which were selected as “The Best Duck Stamp Design” in the Nation for the United States Post Office.
