About Jordan Pope
Jordan Pope is a Santa Barbara artist specializing in Southern California plein air paintings and alla prima studio painting. Along with being featured on numerous Southern California magazine covers, she has shown her work in major national and international exhibitions, including the world’s largest exhibition, The New York Expo. She has exhibited in galleries throughout Washington, Oregon and California.
Jordan Pope studied under New York artist B. Mertching, who mentored her in classical painting from fine materials to technique. Her works are included in the Wherehouser and Quebecure corporate collections.
The artist exhibited at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum Auction, and at the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Museum. Jordan Pope’s paintings were included into the Oil Painters of America’s Annual National Juried Exhibition as well as the National American Impressionist Exhibition. She was in the CAC Gold Medal Show in the Pasadena Museum and she is currently a Artist member of California Art Club, Oil Painters of America, and in the Weisman Museum in Malibu, CA. She is also a member of the American Impressionist Society.
Artist’s Statement:
I paint from the heart, capturing the romance of a single moment. What impresses me the most is how something simple and humble, subjects not necessarily thought of as a work of art, can be turned into a beautiful painting. It fascinates me that a single moment captured on canvas can inspire and fulfill an entire dream, give joy to its beholder or become a piece of art history.
