About Larry Brooks
Born in New York, Larry Brooks studied Fine Arts at the University of New York at New Paltz.
Larry’s work has been exhibited in many solo and group shows, including “Retrospective and Prospective” at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the “Contemporary Masters” exhibition at the Pasadena Museum of California Art.
As a long-time member of the Oil Painters of America and an Artist Member of the California Art Club, Larry has participated in juried OPA National and CAC Gold Medal Exhibitions, including a recent show at the Salmagundi Club in New York City.
Not only a painter, Larry is also an award-winning art director and graphic designer, having created countless Movie Posters, Book Designs, and Album Covers for recording artists including BB King, Linda Ronstadt, Danny Elfman, and Chicago. He was selected as one of 100 artists in America to create an original artwork for a book “The Greatest Album Covers That Never Were,” and traveling exhibition that opened in Los Angeles and culminated at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Today, Larry’s paintings are part of several private and corporate collections. He currently lives and works in Pasadena, California.
